Finals fever in Ballarat

Friday saw the quarter-finals wrap up in Ballarat as we head into the final days of the Foot Locker National Championships.

Finals fever has swept over Ballarat as an action-packed day across the courts has come to an end at the Ivor Burge and Foot Locker U20 National Championship.

Ivor Burge Women

Queensland started the day strong with a 59-51 win over Western Australia to claim their first win of the tournament while the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) dominated South Australia with an impressive 96-59 victory.

Victoria also made a statement, defeating New South Wales 61-35. Later in the day, South Australia bounced back in a big way, crushing Western Australia 101-17, while ACT closed out the division with a 101-86 win over Queensland.

Ivor Burge Men

There were two blowouts in the Ivor Burge Men’s tournament as Tasmania delivered a commanding performance against Queensland, winning 132-59 in a one sided affair.

South Australia made lightwork of New Zealand Whaikaha, overpowering them 100-48.

Under 20 Women

The battle to progress to the semi-finals was fierce in the Under 20 Women’s division. South Australia secured an impressive 68-56 victory over Victoria Navy, while Victoria itself cruised past the ACT with a 91-56 win.

Queensland outpaced Tasmania 73-55, and New South Wales edged out Western Australia 75-67 in a tightly contested battle.

Under 20 Men

The NBA Global Academy started their match red hot against the ACT with a 17-0 run to start proceedings which set the tone to win convincingly 95-62. Victoria Navy half off New South Wales Blue 76-71, while Queensland held on in a high scoring affair against Western Australia 106-95.

Victoria showed their class with an 89-53 win over New South Wales as they continued to breeze through the tournament unscathed, and South Australia wrapped up the day with a 96-85 victory over Tasmania.
